International tradeA US trader in ICT components intended to start doing business in the EU. Shipments from US entered Europe via Rotterdam main port. From there, deliveries were made throughout the whole of Europe.
In cooperation with the business manager and logistics manager, VAT Practice discussed the main goals and relevant terms and conditions, customers, delivery locations, contractual conditions etc. After that VAT practice designed a business flow model for the European activities, thereby minimising VAT liabilities and the necessary compliance requirements. In the end it was possible to design a model which was perfect for commercial purposes and which was also efficient for VAT purposes due to the fact that VAT did not have to be paid in advance.
